I have decided to start a blog and this is my very first post! I'm still recovering from Christmas and waiting for Spring Semester to start. We received a PlayStation 3 and I can safely say that my husband loves Modern Warfare II. He isn't very good at it. I don't understand the appeal of run and shoot games, or hide and shoot games. It's not the violence that bothers me, I love violence as much as the next person. There just seems to be something lacking in a game with such a simple goal. He tried to get me to play earlier and I was more interested in exploring the scenery the game designers created. other then knocking things over and shooting them you couldn't interact with anything and there was luggage everywhere... for some reason? very odd. I have played Brutal Legend a bit and it is a very face paced game but I love it. Very comical and stylized. I like to see interesting characters. Little big planet is cute too...
Regardless of our taste in games we have both decided we need a bigger TV. 32" isn't really cutting it anymore, especially if you want to play split-screen. It's as if they expect you to own a large TV, and maybe most people do, but not us. I wish it was like a software program you could just have automatically updated when the new stuff came out. for free of course. but that would be silly I'm sure.
On a completely unrelated topic I had a horrible nightmare last night. The kind you wake up from gasping. I was in a resort hotel in Florida with my husband and all his friends during a large Tsunami/Tornado/storm thingy. I searched for my husband and when I found him took him to an elevator to ride down to our floor and the safest area to be (at least it was in my dream). As soon as we stepped in the elevator with two other people I knew right away we had made a horrible mistake as the electricity was bound to go out. I tried to open the doors but the labels on the buttons were worn down and you couldn't tell which was which. the other two people managed to get their door open but only with enough time for them to escape. (Yes I know elevators usually don't have separate doors but it was a dream after all.) I kept pushing buttons but our door wouldn't open. Then I heard the ding that the elevator makes and we plummeted several floors. Apparently the cable snapped? or something? I only remember falling and landing, all the lights had gone off and it looked creepy. I was yelling for help and trying to find my cell to dial 911 when I woke up. Very creepy. I've never had a falling dream but I didn't think you were ever supposed to land...
Hopefully I am nightmare-free tonight. Tomorrow I will be enjoying a round of Mario Party on the Wii with friends.
