Mario Rocks

The new Mario for the Wii is a lot of fun (which is everyone's opinion it seems like). and it is pretty fun in groups too, as long as you aren't playing with one of those people who gets super pissed when you jump on their head. *cough* Josh *cough*

Tonight we will be playing with 4 players so that should be interesting.

Classes start tomarrow and I don't even want to think about them. Yes, it will be nice to get out of the house, but that requires getting out of the house. I would make a good hermit. I have notebooks but should probably buy a few more binders. I just hope I don't have to buy anything extra like I always have too. I think I got out of buying a parking pass which is nice, but you never know. They might decide to get rid of the buses and then I would be screwed. Though I'm so cheap I would probably still park 30 minutes away from campus just to not pay 50$ so that I can park 20 minutes away... I mean seriously is 10 minutes of my time worth 50$?

Josh is currently hooked on an Ipod Touch game he got and it's driving my crazy. We will be playing Mario and he'll stop innbetween levels to check his game out. I don't know what kind of game it is that he can just let it run in the background but it's annoying as hell.

It just keeps snowing, I hate snow. Hopefully when I graduate my career will get me the hell out of here. with my luck I'll end up in Alaska. but seriously I want some warm weather. I hate winter, but I also hate summer so go figure. Not to sound to gothy but i love gloomy storm weather. It sucks to walk in but it's not too hot or cold usually and there isn't a bright irritating sun hurting your eyes. So I love clouds, hate the sun.

I just hope i don't miss any classes because of the snow...

Well, that was fun

My three week long break is almost over! I have Friday and the weekend and then back to school and work I go... I can't decided if I'm happy about it or not. School is super expensive and I still feel lost at the bakery, but hopefully I will catch on. The husband is still playing Modern Warfare II, and I even played a little. Still not my favorite, but it is satisfying to finally shoot one of those fictional little men. Still my favorite game at the moment is actually a free IPod Touch app called Depict. it's like pictionary and you play against other people online, very fun. Did I already write all this? I have an odd sense of deja vu...

The snow here is pretty high. My puppy was very happy about this. She loves to pounce on it and eat it. I threw a snow ball for her and she actually tried to bring it back to me! very cute!

Clearly she is much bigger now. Here is a more recent photo:

Friday is coming up and we're hanging out with friends. Again I wish we had that new Mario Wii game that just came out! It feels as if everyone has it but me... though I'm sure that's not accurate. Still I heard that there is a game called: Mario RPG available for download on the Wii and I was interested. Apparently it came out a long long time ago but was never released in North America. Go figure. Still I'm a glutton for Mario.

On another note we saw the Avatar movie. it was AWESOME! predictable yes, but what movie isn't at some point? I read that conservatives are mad because of it seems anti-american but i think it's really good and worth seeing. the acting is good, the story is good, you care about the characters, the love story is great and there are plenty of action scenes that had me clutching the seat. however it does display American military in a not-so-pretty light so if that bothers you i guess go watch transformers instead. lots of military love there.

I promise to post more as a half-ass new years resolution. I can't let Mike Chan beat me.

Watching my husband shoot at strangers

I have decided to start a blog and this is my very first post! I'm still recovering from Christmas and waiting for Spring Semester to start. We received a PlayStation 3 and I can safely say that my husband loves Modern Warfare II. He isn't very good at it. I don't understand the appeal of run and shoot games, or hide and shoot games. It's not the violence that bothers me, I love violence as much as the next person. There just seems to be something lacking in a game with such a simple goal. He tried to get me to play earlier and I was more interested in exploring the scenery the game designers created. other then knocking things over and shooting them you couldn't interact with anything and there was luggage everywhere... for some reason? very odd. I have played Brutal Legend a bit and it is a very face paced game but I love it. Very comical and stylized. I like to see interesting characters. Little big planet is cute too...

Regardless of our taste in games we have both decided we need a bigger TV. 32" isn't really cutting it anymore, especially if you want to play split-screen. It's as if they expect you to own a large TV, and maybe most people do, but not us. I wish it was like a software program you could just have automatically updated when the new stuff came out. for free of course. but that would be silly I'm sure.

On a completely unrelated topic I had a horrible nightmare last night. The kind you wake up from gasping. I was in a resort hotel in Florida with my husband and all his friends during a large Tsunami/Tornado/storm thingy. I searched for my husband and when I found him took him to an elevator to ride down to our floor and the safest area to be (at least it was in my dream). As soon as we stepped in the elevator with two other people I knew right away we had made a horrible mistake as the electricity was bound to go out. I tried to open the doors but the labels on the buttons were worn down and you couldn't tell which was which. the other two people managed to get their door open but only with enough time for them to escape. (Yes I know elevators usually don't have separate doors but it was a dream after all.) I kept pushing buttons but our door wouldn't open. Then I heard the ding that the elevator makes and we plummeted several floors. Apparently the cable snapped? or something? I only remember falling and landing, all the lights had gone off and it looked creepy. I was yelling for help and trying to find my cell to dial 911 when I woke up. Very creepy. I've never had a falling dream but I didn't think you were ever supposed to land...

Hopefully I am nightmare-free tonight. Tomorrow I will be enjoying a round of Mario Party on the Wii with friends.
